He’s about my age. We shared a lot of early experiences. He was lucky to have a much more favorable environment to grow up in. And very lucky to be able to live a nude-friendly life.
His childhood reminds me of mine, only without the pervasive sense of perversion and sin. I had similar experiences in modeling and on stage straight out of high school. His experience with the gatekeepers of nudist resorts reflects mine when I was a single. And he did the Bay to Breakers nude back when that was unusual. I have one of those neon hats he talks about.
I think he makes very important points about nudity in mixed groups and acceptance by textiles. Like him, I tell people who I might befriend that I’m a nudie. (Not to mention it feels like I’m ashamed of it.)
I also ask if nudity would be acceptable at pool or costume parties. I’ll ask a friend if it is OK just to hang out with them, sans habillement. The answer is surprisingly often, Yes.
It is well worth letting it play in the background while you do other stuff.
